Before Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s OJS platform and must represent original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere. Authors confirm that the manuscript is within scope and satisfies the journal’s ethical, authorship, disclosure, and data-availability requirements before submitting.

File Format and References
- Main manuscript files are submitted in .docx or .rtf format.

Reporting Guidelines for AI/ML Research
Where the submission develops, trains, or evaluates an AI/ML system, authors follow the applicable reporting standard — CONSORT-AI, SPIRIT-AI, TRIPOD-AI, or CLAIM — and submit the completed checklist. Full detail is set out in the AI/ML Research Reporting Standards.
Disclosure of Funding and AI Use
Authors must clearly disclose all sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest, and the use of generative AI tools, if applicable, in data analysis, figure generation, language editing, or manuscript preparation, consistent with the AI and LLM Policy.
Ethical Compliance
Authors comply with applicable research ethics standards, including approvals for studies involving human participants, animals, or sensitive clinical data, where relevant.
Data and Code Availability
A Data Availability Statement is required in every manuscript. Authors are strongly encouraged to share code and, where possible, trained model parameters, consistent with the Data, Code and Reproducibility Policy.
Anonymization for Peer Review
JAIHL uses double-anonymized peer review. Authors remove names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and identifying file metadata from the main manuscript file, providing this information on a separate title page instead.
Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
Accepted articles are assigned a DOI once DOI registration is active for the journal.
