What to expect. JAIHL uses double-anonymized peer review: reviewers do not see author identities, and authors do not see reviewer identities. Manuscripts are screened by the editorial office, assessed by an editor and, if suitable, sent to at least two independent reviewers. Typical timelines are set out on the Peer Review Process page.
Before you submit. Prepare an anonymized manuscript and a separate title page, the reporting checklist that applies to your study (CONSORT-AI, SPIRIT-AI, TRIPOD-AI or CLAIM, where relevant), a Data Availability Statement, and any ethics approval details.
Fees. There is no charge to submit or to have a manuscript peer reviewed. An Article Processing Charge applies only to accepted articles, and waivers and discounts are available for eligible authors. See the Article Processing Charges page for details.
