Archiving Policy

To ensure the long-term digital preservation, accessibility, and permanent availability of all published scholarly content, the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare & Life Sciences (JAIHL) utilizes a multi-tiered archiving strategy:

  1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): JAIHL digitally deposits full-text articles into the PKP PN. This network uses a decentralized system to create permanent archives for journals hosted on Open Journal Systems (OJS), ensuring content remains secure and accessible globally regardless of server disruptions.
  2. LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Ecosystems: The journal actively participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) initiatives. This permits the development of a secure, permanent archiving system among participating academic libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
  3. Self-Archiving Policy: JAIHL encourages authors to self-archive the accepted, published version of their manuscripts (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, subject-specific archives (such as PubMed Central or arXiv), or personal/professional websites immediately upon publication under the CC BY 4.0 open-access license.
